Muslims are the second largest population in the world of about 1.9 billion and an overall percentage of 24.9% yet we are unable to defend our fellow Muslims. Why don’t Muslims have a separate platform, apart from the United Nations, to solve their problems through Islamic jurisprudence and have it implemented? Why do we require the United Nations who does not have any interest in Muslims? It's time to question ourselves. Do we know Israeli history? Do we know enough about Zionist culture? Do we even know the cause to fight for Palestine? Do we understand the meaning of humanity which is dead?
The first manifestation of Jews was from 1200 B.C. and the name Israel was long ago known through Prophet Yaqoob, through him the Bani Israel came into being and then hundreds of years later came Prophet Dawood, who was the king, and that was the golden era of Jews. Later came Prophet Suleyman; during his reign Hackle e Soleimani (Solomon’s temple) was made and Taboot e Sakina (art of convening) disappeared which was a box filled with miracles of Allah and is still not found as the art of convening. Towards the start of the second manifestation which took place during the reign of Cyrus e Azam, an Iranian king, helped establish Jews again and let them built Hackle e Soleimani again. However, it was later again destroyed by Titus, a Roman king, who killed 150000 Jews at that time. The third manifestation; an era of war and industrial revolution where Ottomans fought with British and by the end of the war part of the land was recognized as Israel and other as Palestine. However, the Palestinians never accepted Israel as they were allotted with Palestinian land. The conflict of Al-Aqsa arises as the Zionists want to demolish it and make Hackle e Soleimani once again. However, the second most important mosque in Islam is not yet been unprotected by its believers to be destroyed and is not an open prey for anyone.
“If I don’t steal it, someone else is going to steal it”, this is a Zionist proverb. For a few weeks, I kept on hearing words such as Zionist and anti-Semitic which boggled my mind that why all Jews are Zionist or Anti-Semitic. After a long time of contemplating, researching and reading, I found out that it’s the mental state of perceiving an ideology. It’s movement for (originally) the re-establishment and (now) the development and protection of a Jewish nation what is now Israel. It was established as a political organization in 1897 under Theodor Herzl, and was later led by Chaim Weizmann. This ideology lets Israel justify the apartheid and ethnic cleanse of Palestinians. Modern Zionism emerged in 19th century in central and Eastern Europe which raised the waves of anti-Semitic mindset. As it shows the hostility and sense of hatred towards the Jews, it can be stated as religious or racial discrimination which led to many attacks on innocent Jews who were falsely alleged for attacking Palestine. It was first recognized through a German activist, Wilhelm Mar, who led many anti-Jewish campaigns. The main point of anti-Semitic view is the racial and religious discrimination, “Anti-Semitism is a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred towards Jews”, while on the other hand, calling Zionism a variant of colonialism or imperialism would not be wrong. However, it has led to harm to many innocent Jews. Just as every Muslim is not a terrorist, every Jew is not a Zionist or anti-Semitic. Many Jews have taken strong stance towards the Palestinian support which nullifies the fact that every Jew is Zionist.
Israel was made a state in 1948. The unlawful occupation of the Gaza Strip by the once Jewish immigrants, who were sent here to be protected from Hitler and Nazism, have now developed the colonial state of Israel. Since 1948, the innocent Palestinians have been facing ethnic cleansing, apartheid, colonialism and state sanctioned violence. It’s been 73 years since they have been facing such atrocities by Israelis who have violated the United Nation laws of occupied land by force. Israel has been practicing ethnic cleansing and apartheid which harmed Palestinian communities. It has been violating human rights through bombing and by unjustified massacres of innocent Palestinians since 1948. Moreover, Israelis are doing collective punishment by doing ethnic cleansing and also violating the basic children rights. It has been doing massive transformation of local laws which are morally ill and illegal to be implemented and no law can approve such legislation by doing such acts. It has been violating the Law and Order given under certain international verification and specification of U.N. Security council. Yet it also remained violated, unquestioned and unanswered on illegal binding on member nation Palestinians.
The first thing we should know is what we are demanding and for whom we are demanding; social media, its algorithm and how to compete with it. On social media, algorithms help maintain order and assist in ranking search results and advertisements; the only way to stand for Palestinians. The accounts you search and the type of posts you engage with through sharing, saving and putting up on your stories allows that content to be first viewed as you open your social media account. This is implemented because over 3 billion people are using social media with multiple content creators. However, to make competitive and high-quality content, an algorithm was placed to increase competition among creators and influencers. However, as said by Pakistani Foreign minister, Israel does have deep pockets which limits the social media activity of Palestinian content. Thereby, we can be smart enough to use COVID stickers and post content within the normal day to day sharing of posts. It is crucial, now more than ever, to make use of technology and bring forth the atrocities Palestinians have been put through since 1948. Despite mass media’s bias narrative of the Palestinian content, it could no longer be in favour of Israel. Muslims condemn every inhuman act and thereby stand together with Palestine.
From the past eleven days, where there was extreme bombing and attacks on innocent Palestinians, 232 have people died; 65 of them were children;1900 were wounded; 90000 displaced;1800 housing units destroyed; 74 government facilities bombed and 33 media centres destroyed. Apart from those days of attack, they are still being attacked regularly. Palestinians are fighting the war of no choice. As said by the President of Turkey, “Israel has no conscience, no honour, no pride. They curse Hitler day and night, but they have surpassed Hitler in barbarism.” Have you questioned yourself why are we even protecting Palestine or why are we hating Israel? Many of us are being part of this campaign as a “trend”
L’Oréal is one of the most well-known makeup brands. It owns 36 more extended brands and their headquarters are located in the area which was formally known as Palestinian village, which was cleared in 1948. Garnier played its part on 31st July, 2014, when it provided care packages to female soldiers of Israeli Défense Force, who were working on operation protective edge. Are these products really cruelty free? Maybelline, Nike, Lancôme, Urban Decay, La Roche Posay, Red ken, Kiel’s, Intel, HP, PepsiCo, Nestle, IBM, Motorola, Barbie, Starbucks, Pampers, Caterpillar, Levi’s, Puma, Victoria’s Secret, Ahava and many more. Search these brand originators or to whom they support and you will realize we are the ones at fault.
Why are we unable to provide such brands for ourselves? Israel contains and withholds the entrepreneurship culture. When a woman gets pregnant in Israel, she is taught mathematics to sharpen the mind of the baby. She leaves the household work and focuses on her child. Israelis give birth to millionaires, businessmen, billionaires. They are given birth to rule and lead their nation. The pregnant women consume fish without head, cord liver oil, no meat, and nuts. There’s a taboo in Israel that they discourage smoking in the house or near pregnant women as it destroys mental stability and harms genes and DNA. And guess who's the world's largest producer of cigarettes? You all know it. Israeli children are taught Hebrew, Arabic and English. They study Business, Mathematics and Science from grade 1 to 8. They also learn piano and violin with archery and other physical activities. When they graduate from university, they are supposed to earn one million dollars in their last semester. YES 1 million! That’s why Starbucks, Dell computer, Coca Cola, DKNY, Oracle, Levi’s, Dunkin Donut, Hollywood films and hundreds other businesses are under their sponsorship. Compared to the US, we give birth in order to shut the mouths of society, specifically mothers-in-law and to gain our husbands affection back which women have lost. They try to make them more faithful and bound due to the child they give birth to. So how can we create such a nation that sees child rearing as a getaway from all the curses and taunts? And the children are left alone with mobile phones in their hands or playing on the streets who later in life end up jobless or heartbroken.
Palestine was a land created for peace which never saw peace. Palestine is not a trend nor a Muslim issue; it’s the question to humanity. We are privileged that we are safe and sound hence our silence might make us oppressor, if we remain quiet. Sitting under a roof, without any threat to my life, sipping my cold milkshake and writing this article made me realize that I am blessed. I don’t have to wear my hijab at night so that people would find my body covered. I don’t live in a constant fear of losing my loved ones or being homeless. I sleep without hearing any bombing. I celebrated my EID with family, but there are some deprived of all these blessings.
Tweeting constantly, sharing posts, using #SafePalestine hashtags as much as possible, condemning our Muslim leaders who cannot do anything and other Muslim leaders who are doing everything, we should not let go this issue like 73 years ago. This massacre of innocent human lives should stop at any cost.
